Geophysical Investigation

TGE provides non-invasive geophysical surveys from the ground surface as well as geophysical logging in boreholes to provide images or models of subsurface conditions. Our geophysical services include carefully defining specific survey objectives, designing a cost-effective approach to meet those objectives, acquiring high quality geophysical data using state-of-the-art instrumentation, analyzing the resulting geophysical data using leading edge computer processing and inversion techniques and providing our interpretation of the results. We routinely provide our services to geologists, geotechnical engineers, civil engineers, hydrologists, environmental engineers, archeologists, land planners, government agencies, and property owners throughout Africa and several foreign countries. The information we provide is often a critical component in the planning, design and implementation of studies in civil works, geotechnical design and environmental engineering. The following are some of the geophysical tests we can carry out:

  • Electrical Resistivity (1D, 2D & 3D Dimensional Electrical Resistivity)
  • Self-Potential/IP
  • 2D Surface Seismic Refraction Survey
  • 2D Surface Seismic Reflection Survey
  • Surface Waves (MASW, REMI, SASW, CSP) Surveys to determine in situ dynamic properties of subsurface formations (e.g Poisson ratio, Density, young’s modulus, shear modulus)).
  • Downhole Seismic Surveys
  • Gravity
  • Electromagnetic Surveys
  • Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
  • Tellurics, Dipole-Dipole & other Electrical Methods
